Audio Dropout & App Switching Issue on Bluetooth Amplifier Boards

Audio Dropout & App Switching Issue on Bluetooth Amplifier Boards

Some customers may experience the following Bluetooth audio issues when using the amplifier board:

  • When skipping to the next song in a playlist, the audio suddenly stops and only resumes after manually pausing and playing again.
  • When selecting a different song randomly (not in playlist order), there is a short period of no sound, requiring a manual pause/play to recover.
  • When music is playing, and another video app (such as TikTok or YouTube) is opened, the video plays but has no sound, while the original music audio continues.

These issues are caused by the AVRCP Audio Switching feature in the Bluetooth firmware. On some mobile devices, this function does not handle audio source switching correctly, which can result in delayed or missing audio.

Please refer to the following tutorial to resolve the issue.

First, to ensure a proper Micro USB connection, remove the Bluetooth module from the amplifier board. Then connect the Bluetooth module to your computer using a Micro USB cable.

1. Download and install the USB driver

2. Download and install ADK_QCC512x_WIN_6_4_Installer_6_4_2_26
You can also download it from the same page: https://www.tinyosshop.com/index.php?route=information/news&news_id=106

3. Run the ADK Configuration Tool and select the device.
(If no device is found, the USB driver may not have been installed successfully.

Click "Go Configurable" and then click "Read Device".

4. Go to Configuration Set -> Bluetooth -> BR/EDR Profiles -> AVRCP, and uncheck “AVRCP Audio Switching”.

5. After changing the parameters, click “Write Device”, then “Go Normal”.

Finally, disconnect the Micro USB cable and reinstall the Bluetooth module onto the amplifier board.
